He is currently team leader of the project ‘Regional Industrial Value Addition (RIVA)’ which GFA is implementing at the East African Community (EAC) on behalf of Deutsche Gesellschaft fur Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH. The project focuses on industrial development in pharmaceuticals and agro-processing (leather, fruits & vegetables). His expertise lies in collaborating with private sector players to influence national and regional policy decision making processes which contribute to the creation of conducive framework conditions for business development in the EAC. He was born and raised in Tanzania and finalized schooling and university education in Germany. He holds a doctorate in business administration and a habilitation in bank management from the Philipps University Marburg, Germany. Before joining German development cooperation at the EAC in 2009, he was a professor for finance, accounting and entrepreneurship at Makerere University Business School (MUBS) in Uganda and director of the Graduate Research Centre.
